Riding club report
The Annual General Meeting of the WRC was held on Thursday 1 1 June at Graeme and Debbie Hills at Karioi. There was a good attendance of 12 members and the presidents and treasurers reports were accepted. The subscriptions remain at $10. Officers elected were: President Mrs E Cooper, Vice President Mrs D Hill, Secretary/T reasurer Mrs A Maru with all members on the committee. A report was given on the ride that was held recently over part of
Waiouru Station when 15 members and visitors took part. The weather was cold but kind as the rain didn't start until the ride was completed. The next ride is to be on 1 August in Rangataua Forest. The next meeting is to be on Thursday 16 July, also at Karioi. Mrs Cooper will be attending the National AGM in Oamaru on the last weekend of June. On the weekend 10-12 July members hope to travel to Masterton to meet with the Adult Riding Club there for a seminar
which will cover some of the various syllabi, including the certificates members hope to sit later in the winter. There was considerable discussion over the choice of music for the quadrille for the North Island team's event at the end of the year and various pieces will be looked at and dressage movements worked out, prior to riding it. Sometimes various changes have to be made as practices progress giving scope for input from all the team.
