Pony Club
At the recent Waimarino Pony Club meeting reports were received from: Heather Lilburn (Raetihi Branch), Evelyn Cooper (Ohakune Branch), Cindy Langdon (NZPCA Horse Trials), John Mcllroy (NIHT teams event) and Nicky Williams (District Commissioner).Nicky thanked both branches for their enthusiasm through the season and congratulated them on their achievements. Members continued to gain certificate passes with Cindy Langdon passing her B Certificate and the Club gaining D passes and 2 C's. The Waimarino Pony Club organised dressage, games, gamblers, gymkhana and held the only area trial this year, all dependent on members to make them successful. Two thousand five hundred dollars, was raised as the clubs half share required to send a King Country Team to both NZPC Dressage Champs at Taupo and to NZPC Horse Trial Champs at Blenheim. Branch Members also represented Waimarino at the Nl Show Jumping Champs in Cambridge and the Nl Teams Champs in Tokoroa. Members were thanked for their fundraising efforts and the people who made the events possible. lan, Ann, Stuart and Cec Rohe were thanked for making their property available for ODE, training sessions and certificates. Thanks also went to Diane Pritt for the use of her paddocks for training sessions and dressage. Nicky asked that safety be a main feature of the forthcoming season. That riders need reminding about the importance of wearing a safety helmet and adhering to the Road Code.
