Raetihi election

Although there were just 21 people attending the Raetihi Promotions Group's annual general meeting last Thursday, chairman John Dobson said they were all good, supportive people. Ruapehu mayor Garrick Workman chaired the meeting, which was called to elect a committee, following about two years of operating under an interim appointed committee. Elected were: president John Dobson, secretary Bernice Frost, committee Craig Ryland, Bob Graves, Barbara Anderson, Karen Harrison, Allan Zohs and Grant Price. All were elected unopposed. In his report chairman John Dobson said the aims of the group were: to promote Raetihi; to help other people into business; to assist other groups will smaller projects; to liaise with the community board representatives; and to coordinate activities in the town so all would be headed in the same direction.
