Officer cadets exercise

The Officer Cadet School is running Exercise Tamatu in Kaitai 1727 May. This anriual exercise is the final one for the senior class, to consolidate their leadership skills, and will be an introduction to leadership appointment for the junior class. It will be a close country exercise divided

into two parts. The first being a theatre indoctrination which introduces the cadets to close country soldier skills. The second part is the actual exercise. This will involve the company deploying to the Omahutu Forest (South East of Kaitai). This will involve the clearance of an AO (Area of Operations), ambushing, patrolling,

and an attack on enemy camp. While in Kaitai, OCS will participate in a Police organised civil aid task to help the local community. Thirty territorial Force (TF) soldiers from 5, 6, and 7 Battalion are being provided to the Officer Cadet Company, and a further 30 from 3 Battalion will make up the enemy group.
