Art meet
Fourteen members attended the Waimarino Art and Craft Society's Annual General Meeting held on 28 April at the Art and Craft Rooms formerly the old Foreman of Works Office, Ohakune Railway Station. Out-going President Colleen Munn commended the previous executive and gave thanks for the hard work of committee members over the last six months to make the newly acquired premises comfortable. Members have enjoyed demonstrations of Papier Maehe and PaperMaking, also an outing to the Taumarunui Art Society luncheon and exhibition in November. Turnpage7

From page 5 Several new members were welcomed and were encouraged to offer the results of their baking, hand-craft and artistic skills for sale to visitors travelling on future steam trains. Annual subscription to the society remains at two dollars to encourage recruitment of further members. Election of Officers: President, Mrs Ann Gardner. Secretary, Ms Ann Newman. Treasurer, Mrs Hazel Wallace.
