New buildings for TKR

BY

RIC

Wet weather did not stop children and parents enjoying a trip to Wanganui recently. Twenty children from the Ngamorehu O Uenuku Te Kohanga Reo in Raetihi spent the weekend of 10 to 12 April visiting the new Tutara Moana Te Kohanga Reo at Gonville. While there they visited

Virginia Lake, Kowhai Park, Durie Hill Tower and Castlecliff Beach. Because the roll of the Ngamorehu O Uenuku Te Kohanga Reo, which is based at the gardener's cottage in the grounds of the Waimarino Health Care Centre, has increased to 32 children, space is limited, so the committee are looking at larger premises.

Within the next three months they are hoping to start building on a section on the corner of Seddon Street and Hukuroa road. On April 29 they are starting parents day each Wednesday. This is so parents can visit and see how the children are progressing and it will also be a learning experience for new parents.
