Fire damages Raetihi house

The Raetihi Fire Brigade saved a King Street house from destruction last Thursday. The fire extensively damaged the kitchen, laundry, bathroom and back porch. It apparently started in the kitchen and also damaged a stove, refrigerator and table as well as burning through the ceiling into the roof area. There was smoke damage to three bedrooms. It took 20 minutes to bring the fire under control and the Fire Brigade were at the scene for two hours. They were called to it at 10.20am.
