First pool game for Raetihi shield

Raetihi Cosmopolitan clubs, Eight Ball Adjunct faced a challenge from Palmerston North

Cosmopolitan Club eight ball adjunct recently, for the CG Fowlie Memorial

Shield. Sixteen players from Palmerston North travelled to Raetihi for the match in 1 1 April. This is the fourth year this event has taken place, but is the first time this shield has been played for. The shield was made by the late Mr C G Fowlie for Rotoract, but as they had not events suitable for it, it was donated to the Eight Ball Adjunct by his daughter Maureen McLeod. At the end of play the score was a tie, so the clubs will hold it for six months each. A social followed at the Raetihi Cosmopolitan Club.
