Bowls over

A fine day and a good green made enjoyable playing for bowlers at the Raetihi bowling clubs end of season tournament last week. Players said the green was playing well and keeps improving eaeh season. The clubs thanks go to Lou Williams who they say has done a good job during the one and half

seasons he has been green keeper. The tournament was sponsored by Trustbank Central Ltd and 44 players came from Taumarunui, Manunui, Owhango, Ohakune and a team from the Wanganui RSA, which consisted of mainly ex Raetihi residents. Club patron Ray Littlewood presented the prizes to the winning team of Vi Brown, lan Weir, Dave Harvey and Roy Bougen. Runners up were Sue Burand, Neil Pierce, Jean Robertson, Sue Pierce. A special prize of a large lolli-pop went to a Manunui player who had the courage to come to bowls with her colourful pink and mauve hair.
