Sports trust's aims settled

The aims of the Waimarino Community Sports Development and Education Trust were decided at the trust's meeting on 8 April. They are: • To promote the well being of the residents of the Waimarino District by promoting participation in physical pursuits and sports. • To facilitate, organise and arrange sporting programmes

and courses. • To facilitate, organise and arrange educational programmes to enhance performance of sporting teams and individual sports persons, thus promoting the physical well being of team members or individuals. The trust deed was circulated among the trustees at the meeting, before being sent to the Inland Revenue Depart-

ment for review. Mayor Garrick Workman was elected as Presiding Trustee and Des Ratima of Waiouru was added to the list of trustees. Subcommittees were formed to look after: • Marketing strateg'y; Neville Johnson of Wanganui, Des Ratima of Waiouru, Wally Parkes of Ohakune, and Keitha Journeaux of Raetihi.

• Applications research; Clive Fremlin of Waiburu, Glyn Hubbard of Ohakune, Barbara Dobson and Keitha Journeaux of Raetihi. • Investment; Geoff Cox of Waiouru, Garrick Workman of Raetihi, Neville Johnson and Rob Goldsbury of Wanganui. Application forms for grants are available from secretary Cathy McLean, which are re-

searched by the subcommittee when returned to the trust. They put their recommendations to the full trustee meeting. The task in front of the trust at present is to sell the remaining annual tickets, which provide people a chance to win cash each week over 12 months. There are still tickets available. The more tickets that are sold, the more money there is available to meet the trust's aims.
