Library change

Users of the Waimarino's public libraries will enjoy. more flexible operating hours, as from 1 May. Waimarino Community Board members heard at last week's meeting, that a review by Ohakune and Raetihi

librarians Wendy Hubbard and Dawn Harper, had highlighted a need for changes to be made to existing hours of operation of their respective libraries. The present timetable was not catering for certain groups in the community, with a number of users calling for changes. The Raetihi Public Library will extend its operations by one hour, with new hours: Monday closed; Tuesday 10amlpm; Wednesday 10am12 noon; Thursday 12pm-4pm; Friday 1.30pm-6pm. Ohakune's new library hours will be: Monday 10am- 12 noon, 3pm5.30pm; Tuesday 12pm2pm; Wednesday closed; Thursday 12pm-2pm, 3pm-5pm; Friday 12pm2pm, 4pm-6.30pm. The librarians say the new hours better cater to the Waimarino's needs - morning hours will cater to mothers with young children and playcentre groups, with afternoon sessions catering to school-age children and workers.
