Lifts open for Easter

Whakapapa Ski Area will be open for sightseeing over the Easter break. The Centennial and Waterfall Express Chairlifts will operate to give sightseers easier access to the upper alpine environment and there will be guided walks to the Crater for the energetic. Ruapehu Alpine Lifts, operators of Whakapapa, are busy with the new summer building programme. A new ski rental building is being erected in Happy Valley,

a new kiosk built at the Top of the West Ridge Quad Chairlift and the deck at Knoll Ridge Cafeteria has been extended. "The skifield is a very different place in summer", said Scott Lee, Marketing Manager for Ruapehu Alpine Lifts.
