New caretaker

BY

RIC

Raetihi school has a new caretaker, who was born and raised in the district. Pine Wilson, whose family are from Karioi, was born at Raetihi and raised in Karioi where he farmed for 20 years. He then spent seven years in Auckland where he was self employed as a landscaper for one year before working for a building firm and then for the North Shore City Council. The decision to move back to this area was made because both Pine and his wife Rita have elderly parents living here. On first arriving back he was employed by the Ruapehu District Council for one year before taking up his present employment.
