Golf report

A reasonable field braved inclement weather on Sunday to contest the Rangiwaea Trophy, rain holding off long enough to see most players back to the 19th hone. As usual scoring was of a high calibre, with the successful combination of J Hammond and E Rush taking out the Trophy with 11 up. Runners-up were: W Marsh and H Cranston 10 up, M Steele and L Drinkwater 9 up, P Hansen and S Blackburn 8 up and D Williams and N Winters 6 up The Men's four-ball winning combination was: D Blackburn and J Mcllroy 9 up with runners-up H Geraghty and C allerby 8 up and T Geraghty and J Murphy 6 up. Individual merit went to : C Heinold who won

the Junior Birds-Nest and Colin Allerby who won the Roarer's Mug. Twos were scored by: G Allerby, W Marsh and M Hays. Sponsors for the day were: Carmichael Transport and Ohakune Tyres and Energy Centre. A working-bee was held on Saturday, in readiness for B Grade Pennants on Sunday 12 April, the course will be closed all day! On Thursday 9 April the Ravensdown Sponsored Tournament is to be held, members welcome, entry $5, tee-off 12noon.
