New kindy teacher

A new kindergarten teacher, Jan Arther, has filled one of the two teacher vaCancies at Keningston Street Kindergarten. The Kindergarten has been without permanent teachers since the beginning of the year, since the previous head teacher Doreen Crossland resigned shortly before term one started. Irene Nankivell, a teacher from Taupo, has been the relieving head teacher until a new head teacher is appointed. Jan recently completed her three year
Early Childhood Educa tion Diploma in Palmer ston North. She said she has al ways liked this area having spent 1988 nan nying in Ohakune. Sh« said she plans to have c multi-cultural curriculum, children's free pia) and plenty of parenta; involvement. Jan's interests include skiing and most outdooi sports. She hopes to gei involved in communit) activities. The Kindergarter committee held a children's bikathon last Saturday to help boost theii funds.
