Detention
Daryl Wayne Pickery, 21, unemployed of Ohakune, pleaded guilty to one charge of breaking and entering the Turoa staff hostel on 11 November; one charge of attempting to steal petrol from Ruapehu Motors on 29 November; one charge of possession of an offensive weapon (a knife) on the same date; and one charge of cultivating cannabis on 26 November. He was convicted and sentenced to 6 months periodic detention for breaking and entering and given a final warning for that offence. For the attempted theft of petrol and possession of a knife he was sentenced to 2 months periodic detention (concurrent) and for the cultivation of cannabis he received another concurrent sentence of one month periodic detention.
