Waiouru Plunket faces demise

BY

JOANNA

SAUNDERS

Waiouru Plunket doesn't have a full committee and the group faces the threat that if they don't get one they will loose everything they currently have, including the Plunket nurses. The Waiouru Plunket committee needs to raise $3,500 per year to be

able to keep the services it currently offers to the parents and children of Waiouru. This money goes towards the general maintenance of rental equipment and payment of mileage of the Plunket nurses, who are not Waiouru residents. To be able to raise this money they need to

have a full committee made up of parents of Waiouru. Currently they have five members, but two are due to be posted at the end of March. "With no committee we stand to lose everything including the Plunket nurses, and of course in Waiouru, once something is lost

it is very very hard to get it back," said member Susan Ross. In a last attempt to keep it together the Plunket committee are holding a meeting tomorrow, 12 February. Members of the public are welcome to attend and show their support, Turnpage2
