Steam train visits
Readers wishing to see a steam locomotive and vintage railway carriages in full splendour should make their way to Ohakune Junction next Sunday afternoon. The Glenbrook Vintage Railway group in Auckland are sending their locomotive
Jal250 'Diana' south to Palmerston North next Sunday, 9 February and will be stopping in Ohakune for about an hour ir order to take on water, which will be provided by the Ohakune Volunteer Fire Brigade. The estimated time of arrival is about 1pm.
This Auckland-based steam locomotive will join another, Ka945, from Steam Incorporated in Paekakariki to bring 1,200 vintage car enthusiasts - many from America - up to Horopito Car Museum on Thursday 13 February during the Pan-Pacific Vintage Car Rally.
