• After Cliff Houston's non-reply to John Dobson' s question - just what does he have to do to win a contract? -
ratepayers would like to know what these nonprice attributes are that John Dobson 'failed'. Can we have them published please? In these days of open and accountable local government, ratepayers want to know just who makes these decisions and on what grounds? Otherwise they may jump to the wrong conclusions - that Council is one-eyed, biased towards the North, or just plain stupid. I for one would like to see local contractors being employed, especially when tenders are well within financial
limits set by Council. Doesn't Council have a policy to promote employment within the District? Come on, Council. How about a little support for businesses in the South your district? It will do a lot more for your public relations than any expensive advertisements and will improve your image in the south a lot more than any $88,800 pa marketing manager could do.
