Climber flown from Ngauruhoe
An English tramper was flown from Mt Ngauruhoe on Friday after cartwheeling 60 metres down a scree slope on the volcano. The 21 year old man suffered an injured wrist and lacerations to his head and leg. Ruapehu Alpine Rescue Organisation members were flown into the accident site to treat the man, who was then taken to Taumarunui hospital. Also on Friday a woman was taken to Taumarunui Hospital after suffering concussion during a fall at Taranaki Falls in the National Park.
