As with many voluntary organisations enthusiasm amongst the Chills Off group waxes and wanes and only a hard core of dedicated individuals remain. At a recent meeting only four were present, three of whom have been actively involved for the last five years. The latest bank accounts show a total of $58,000 invested and it was felt by those present that attempts to entice fur-
ther support from the public be made with a public meeting to be held on Thursday 16 January 1992. Those present looked through a scrap book remembering some of the activities 'Chills Off has been associated with or organised in recent years. The cabarets, The Drop Outs' floor show, teams events, film premieres, carrot eating (they were the first, according to their records), medieval days and gala days at the
recreation grounds. "All of these activities helped fund raising and in turn were time consuming hard work by a dedicated few," said Chills Off member Lance Langdon, "however a lot of fun was had by the organisers." The committee hopes that people will make an effort in the New Year to at least attend the public meeting.
