Close match for trophy
The Ohakune Women's Bowling Team maintained the Westaway Cup played in Ohakune, Monday 25 November, with the Raetihi team coming runncrs up. The match was very close to the cnd, with Ohakune finally winning on a countback on points, after a countback on ends came out even. Ohakune were just eight points ahead of Raetihi.
The teams said the green played "beautifully" for the tournament and said they wanted to thank the men who worked very hard on the green to get it to such an excellent condition. Last week the Champion of Champions tournament was played, with the team of A Nation, B Cochorane, W Brown and N Burrows winning. The team gpes to Wanganui in February.
