Mass invitation

An invitation to Midnight Mass is extended to the wider community, this time in the "warmer setting of the liturgical improvements of the Ohakune Catholic Church." The church has been upgraded this year, with new carpet, new foyer and new kitchen and toi-

let. Father Bernie Vella said the improvements were designed to help community building, by providing better hospitality facilities. "The welcome is to all catholics, to those of other faiths, to searchers, to believers and to non-believers," said Father Bernie Vella.

"Also, by way of preparing our hearts for Christmas and 1992, and to counteract the materialistic aspect that Christmas has come to assume, the public are invited to view an impressive, thought provoking half-hour video 'A way of Spirituality for Today'," said Fr Vella. He said the video by an Indian Jesuit priest, Fr Anthony de Mello, is to be shown in the Summit Bar of the Ohakune Hotel. He said the manager of the hotel has made the bar available on 11 & 18 December.
