Ohura Rd name to be changed
The Orautoha and Ruatiti community should be consulted before a decision on a name change for Ohura Road is made. That was the decision of the Waimarino Community Board last week when asked to consider
the matter. ] The Council is look-^ ing to change the name: of the road to avoid con-1 fusion with Ohura Road, near Ohura in the North of the Ruapehu District. Board member Bill Peach said the name had historical connotations linked to the Bridge to Nowhere and the early plans to link Raetihi with Ohura. Other members felt it was reasonable to change the road"s name, to avoid confusion.
