End of bridge

Twenty people attended bridge on Wednesday 20 November and 25 boards were played over five tables. Tani Blackburn and Gabby Mareikura had a very convincing win with 65% of a possible 200 pts. 26 points behind were Mark Hays and Bob Tumataroa in second place with 52% and in third- place just one point behind were John and Sandra Eades with 51.5%. First place in EastWest with an equally convincing win were Ron Martin and Ron Frew with 62.5% of the maximum possible 200 points. Tracy Ennis and Les Burns were 17 points behind in second place with 54% and third place was taken by Pauline Le Noel and Lauretta Eades with 52%.

Wednesday Nov. 27 was the last club night for the Ohakune Bridge Club and 20 people attended, including Rudi Van Hysan, a visitor from Wellington. Rudi teamed up with Jack McLean and it proved a winning combination as they took 1st place place East-West with 68%. Rita Kaiwhare and Betty Hammond 2nd: 44.5%. Brian Eades and Ron Frew were by far the most outstanding partnership North-South scoring 60% with Gordon Mottram and Pauline Le Noel 2nd: 54.5% Bridge for the year finished on Saturday with the Annual Ohakune Bridge Club "Summer Picnic" tournament which will be held at the Alpine Restaurant and Wine Bar.
