Whaling arrives at Turoa? Nonsense! Who ever heard of whales at 1600 metres above sea level? In the latest Ruapehu District Council Activities Report there is mention of widening of a section of road "above the Harpoon Corner". Perhaps they mean 'Hairpin' - but then we'd have hairdressers hovering and great heights?
