Trooping the Colour

BY

JO

HOWIE

Officer Cadet School (OCS) trooped its Regimental Colour to commemorate the first anniversary of the presentation of its Colours, last Wednesday. The Corps of Officer Cadets march on to the grassed parade ground, the Colours were then uncased and marched onto the parade to await the arrival of the Re-

viewing Officer, Colonel Maurice Dodson, a former Commandant of the Officer Cadet School. Colonel Dodson inspected the parade, accepted the salute as the troops on parade marched past, and then he addressed the parade. During his address he reflected on the importance of OCS to the NZ Army, and complimented the OCS staff on the calibre of graduates. OCS was presented with two colours a year ago by the then Governor General His Excellency The Reverend Sir Paul Reeves. The colours are known as the Queens Colour and the Regimental Colour. The Queens Colour is only trooped in the presence of the Queen, a member of the Royal Family or

her representative, or to eelebrate her birthday, so on Wednesday only the Regimental Colour was trooped.
