He said the queens would be flying until about the end of November. The Department has some traps available for loan, but they are also easily constructed from two plastic soft drink bottles. The traps should be hung in a flowering tree, and jam is best for bait as it is less likely to attract bees than holes honey. 0 0 o o The bait is placed in the lower bottle, with the holes cut in it, and a surface spray insecticide such as Black Flag is sprayed in the top bottle.
