Tumbler's trip
This report is from Turoa Tumbler Warwick Hays on his recent Perth trip:"We arrived at Perth, to 22 degrees C, on Monday 23 September and then Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday we trained in a local gym, about 5 mins from the stadium. "Then Friday I competed with my compulsories and I went quite well. Then Saturday I competed with my voluntaries which also went well. "Once the competition had fmished we had presentations which were good for the NZ team. The under 16's, which I was part of, took out the first team medal.
My overall placing was 16th which I am happy with. I have a lot of work to do still but considering the Australians have their institutes and Chinese and Japanese coaches, I'm not doing too bad. "I would like to thank all the people who helped with the fundraising and the donations that made it possible for me to go to Australia."
