Waiouru golf

The first Waiouru Twilight Golf was held on Tuesday 8 October. A big turnout of golfers enjoyed the nine holes and the results were quite encouraging. Twos were scored by Stu Kett and Trevor Sibley, both at the 15th. Haggle results were: lst Rob Tidy nett 32; Mark O'Dwyer 33; Trev Sibley 33; Barry Kearney 34; Sam Iraia 35; Rose Hill 35. Next Twilight Golf is on Tuesday 15 October, tee off 4:30 to 5:30pm. Saturday 12 October saw the start of the monthly medal competition for the season. The first round of the aggregate stableford competition was also played. The winner of the monthly medal, with a nett 67 was Colin "Bird" Nightingale. In the stableford competition results were: Colin Nightingale 40; Merv Rodger 38; Rose Hill 38; Mike Cavanagh 37; Paul Creedy 37; Lloyd i Shuttle worth 37; Trevor Hennesey 37. Karen Devine, Gary Haughey and Mike Cavanagh all scored Two's for the day.

The next club day will be held on Sunday 20 October instead of Saturday 19 due to the running of the Around the Mountain Relay. The second round of the aggregate stableford competition will be played that day.
