Councillors who may be swayed towards voting to rescind the appointment of a Ruapehu District marketing manager should be lobbied by Ruapehu South Business Association members. This was the feeling at a recent meeting of the Association. Chairperson Sue Allomes said the decision to appoint a marketing manager would have to be rescinded by a vote of councillors, but that she feared this could happen. Mrs Allomes said there were a few at the recent public meeting who were against the appointment. but that most of them were from Taumarunui. Mrs Allomes said a marketing plan for the District was presently being prepared by the Taumarunui Development Incorporation (TDI). "It is a huge job and we don't have the resources to do it," said Mrs Allomes. She said the RSBA is providing local resource lists to help with the plan.
