Turangi Badminton Visit

Four badminton teams from Ohakune and Waiouru travelled to Turangi on 27 September to play a combined and doubles event against the Turangi club. Turangi had the stronger teams in the D Grade and two C Grade sections and won their games convincingly. However Lindsay Cast and Stacy Cranston from Ohakune won their D Grade mens doubles managing to prevent a complete 'walk-over' by the Turangi side. In the B Grade section some very close games were played but the Ohakune -Waiouru combined team played very well and were able to win all their games. This team was made up of Ned Wanoa and Sam Tiri of Waiouru and Jocelyn and Marie Cranston of Ohakune.
