Chopper trips for kids

Three of a group of "Camp Quality" kids put their feet back on the ground after a joyride in the Wanganui Aero Works and Waimarino Rescue Trust Heiicopter, piloted by Rick Harding. Camp Quality is an internationai organisation that organises holidays and events for children suffering from life threatening cancer. Ruapehu Lions organised a weekend 'mini camp' for a group of 22 such children, from 10 to 15 years old, plus their minders. The trip included skiing, generously hosted by Turoa Ski Resort, a visit to the QEII Army Memorial Museum, a dinner and lunch provided for by the Ruapehu Lions, and a stay at the Rangitikei Ski Lodge.
