Turoa plan
Turoa' s civil defence emergency evacuation plan has been received by the Ruapehu District Council, following concern that it possibly did not exist. The Waimarino Community Board heard that the plan has been around
for some time and was lodged with the Department of Conservation. Also, Turoa management were in the process of updating the plan, with the help of DoC and Ruapehu Alpine Lifts. Board chairman Colin Webb said he believed
this was the first time the local authority had received a copy of the plan. He said he thought they should have made it known much sooner and that they should have been working in conjunction with Civil Defence on the plan.
