Waiouru Scout Leader needed

The Desert Rover Scout Crew, in the absence of an appointed Group Leader, are to hold a meeting next week to gauge the amount of support in the community for the continuation of Scouting in Waiouru. Keas, Cubs and Scouts are in a serious predicament. Since January there has been no group leader or support committee to help the leaders of the individual sections. They have slowly lost boys due to Army postings and with no training, prospects are beginning to lose interest. While the Group can operate without a group leader, they cannot operate without funds and that is the vital role of the support committee. Desert Rover Scout Crew Leader, Alan Saunders expressed his concerns over the situation and hopes that the meeting will have a positive ending note. He hopes to get a volunteer to take over the position of group leader and put some enthusiasm back into Scouting. "AI1 that is needed is a little involvement from those who are interested in Scouting, we are not asking for money, just one hour of peoples time, so we can discuss the situation and find the best possible solution to our problem." Anyone interested in attending the meeting is asked to contact Alan on Waiouru 56324.
