First aid skills tested

BY

joanna

Saunders

A group of 16 men and women sat an exam which tested how much they had learned in both the practical and theoretical fields of First Aid on 21 August. Nigel and Sheila Buck are instructors with the New Zealand Red Cross Society and they run courses throughout the year in Ohakune and Raetihi. They say that because of the frequency and serious nature of many accidents, the role of the first aider is very important and a practical skill that everyone should learn. The latest group will find out their exam results by the end of September.
