Rangataua rubbish was the target off Rangataua School's pupils including Alex Littleton, Hadley Breen and Ivan Littleton. Following a suggestion made at the Ruapehu South Junior Council that schools do some litter control work, Rangataua representative Tony Stewart asked his classmates iff they were willing. They cleaned up Piwari Street, the Domain and the school's horse paddock, picking up cans, bottles and building site rubbish.
