Rail theft arrest
Police arrested a 22 year old local man Tuesday night/Wednesday morning for preparing to commit a crime in a public place and for possession of an offensive weapon. The arrest followed the theft in recent weeks of property from railway carriages parked at Tangiwai. The man faces further charges as a result of police investigations, and a 29 year old female faces receiving charges also following the investigation.
