Fliers race at Turoa

Air New Zealand staff have converged on Ruapehu this week to compete in their national ski races. Monday was set down for the event which would be used to select the airline's team to compete in the World Airlines Championships at Mt Bachelor in the United States. With 1000 competitors expected the international fliers event is one of the largest in ' the world. Simon Wi Rutene was invited to the Turoa event to run a race clinic for the team. Social events feature high on the list of the meet's activities, with barbecue, fancy dress obstacle race, ski touring with picnic and dinner at Cleche's planned.
