TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1977 PROPOSED CHANGE NO.90/1 TO BOROUGH OF RAETIHI DISTRICT PLANNING SCHEME SUMMARY OF OBJECTION RECEIVED At its meeting on 12 April 1991 the Ruapehu District Council resolved to proceed with a change to the current operative Borough of Raetihi District Planning Scheme. The affect of the change is to amend the industrial zone provisions by adding a new Industrial B zone and to rezone a piece of land on the corner of George Street and Parapara Road from Industrial to Industrial B. The decision to proceed with the change was appeaied by AFFCO New Zealand Ltd on the grounds that notification procedures had not been correctly carried out. As a result of the implementation of a Consent Order issued by a Judge of the Planning Tribunal an objection has now been received from AFFCO New Zealand Ltd. Below is a summary of objection received to the proposed change: OBJECTOR REQUESTED ALTERATION AFFCO New Zealand Ltd Cancellation of Proposed change No. 90/1 or to amend the Proposed Change to make it consistent with existing District Scheme restrictions. The above objection to the proposed Scheme Change may be inspected during normal office hours of the Ruapehu District Council at Miro Street, Ohakune; Seddon Street, Raetihi; or Manuaute Street, Taumarunui. Notice of support of or opposition to any objection shall be in writing on Form D prescribed in the schedule of the Town and Country Planning Regulations 1978 or to the like effect and shall be lodged at the offices of the Council not later than 4.00pm on 6 September 1991. REVIEW 0F BASIS 0F ELECTI0N Public notice is hereby given that the Ruapehu District Council has resolved, pursuant to Section 23 of the Local Government Amendment Act 1991, not to undertake, before the Triennial General Elections of the Council to be held in 1992, a review of its membership and the basis on which it is elected. This means for the Council elections which are to be held in October 1992, the existing Ward structure will remain in place and the same number of Councillors will be elected to represent each Ward as is currently the case. The Mayor will continue to be elected by the electors of the District as a whole. A review of the Basis of Election will take place in the year prior to the 1995 Council elections.
