Festival features a feast of fun

The Mt. Ruapehu Winter Festival, which coincides with the New Zealand Winter Games will host three weeks of fun and entertainment. Featured during the Festival will be spaghetti and pasta parties, beer festivals, live entertainment, concerts, fashion shows, balls and masquerades, along with exhibitions of photography and art. Included in the programme is the Mt Ruapehu Winter Festival "Celebrity Charity Dinner" hosted at the Chateau Tongariro, where participants will dine and be entertained by New Zealand celebrities. The Chateau will also be hosting the Winter Festival Fashion Show, co-ordinated by the lady of fashion, Maysie Bestall-Cohen. The fashion of the upcoming summer from leading labels will be modelled along with top New Zealand designers' evening wear and the New Zealand Wool Board's "International Collection". The Mt Ruapehu Winter Festival Marquee will be the venue for the Beer Festivals, tasting of some of some of the

world's best beers, live concerts for partying with the "Scanners" and "Tina and Suzie and the Body Clock". Ohakune will be the centre of the partying "Apres Ski" activity with restaurants hosting the "Diamond Spaghetti and Pasta Party", live entertainment and special theme evenings.

Numerous activities are planned for the night spots of the area including the New Zealand Winter Games "Snowball" and the Fancy Dress Masquerade plus bands and discos. Taumarunui will be hosting a variety of activities from a traditional hangi to a Town Hall Rage-up", as
