New scout leaders

BY JOANNA S AUNDERS Beverley Mcllroy and Grant Hayes of Ohakune have recently been warranted as adult scout leaders. When the the Ohakune Cub Pack began to admit girls into their ranks it become necessary to have a female leader and Beverley volunteered. As an assistant cub leader Beverley will share in the running of the cub's, activity and programme planning and general supervision of the pack. She said she is looking forward to the challenge. Grant joined the movement six years ago as a scout leader for Ohakune. Since that time he has got a reputation for always being on the move. Over the last year, Grant felt that the Waimarino scout leaders were missing out in essential training. He said he hopes scout numbers will grow again. Both Beverley and Grant were presented with their respective warrants at a special district meeting held in Waiouru last Wednesday.
