Do-wop dunny

If you hear some unusual, but yet vaguely familiar, noises beaming into your ears via Ruapehu Radio - who began broadcasting on Saturday - the mystery is solved - they are broadcasting from a toilet! Someone nicked the station's transmitter shed sited on Waipuna Ridge and they had to frantically search around for an alternative. Ever-helpful Department of Conservation staff came to the rescue and supplied Ski FM with a tramper's toilet - latest model built of the finest fibreglass and complete with seat and toilet roll holder! "That'll do the trick!," decided the Ski FM crew - they only need a little shed and the smallest room is big enough. So, the breakfast programme is coming to you loud and proud from the seat of a toilet! - 'cause that's where the receiver and transmitter are parked!
