Famous duo perform
Waiouru primary school children were fortunate to have the opportunity to listen to two talented professional musicians last week. Ann Saslav is a concert pianist and her husband Isidor is a concertmaster in the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. Since 1977 the Saslavs have presented performances and demonstrations for youth throughout the USA, Canada, Mexico, and Europe. In 1987 they brought their youth concerts for the first time to New Zealand, which allows children to hear chamber music by professional performers. The children enjoyed attempting to compose and improvise some music pieces as well as play the violin, making an enjoyable and memorable introduction to chamber music
