Wild west water problems?
Will Little River's drought be broken? Will Miss Scow get her man? And do Gunk and the Stinkers ever come clean? And why does a fortune teller want to buy Wild Bill Hiccup's three hic-tares of land? The answers to these questions and more will become abundantly
clear, as indeed what the questions are about, when Ruapehu College begins its production of "Windust" on Wednesday 3 July. The musical was written by John Reynolds with music by Shade Smith and features singing, dancing and plenty of dramatic in-
trigue. There is a stage cast of 34 with many more pupils and teachers involved in areas such as scenery, lighting, music, costuming, publicity, front of house and properties. "Windust" promises to amuse as well as display some of the Waimarino 's youthful talent. "So come along" urge the Ruapehu College players, "surround yourself in, a world of gormless gunfighters, unemployed cowboys, apathetic townsfolk and courageous children." "You'll be in for a pretty hic-tic time." Other questions to be answered by "Windust" include: Can the professor really work miracles?; Is the Drongo Kid a tough gunfighter?; Will the sheriff ever get rid of the pestering women?; and (in deference to Ohakune's out-
laws?) how can the bandits solve the water problem?
