End of Pony club season

To end the 1990-91 season a video afternoon was held last week featuring Raetihi pony club members participating on various activities on their ponies over the last six years.

Some members took great delight in seeing themselves riding when they were a lot younger while others were not so keen, but in all tremendous progress over the last six years was evident. Following the videos an afternoon tea was had then onto the prize givings which were presented by the club patron, Alan Bowater, who was thanked for the prizes he donated.

Awards Attendance through the year; Juniors, McLean cup Briar McGregor; Intermediate, Vet Club cup, Nicola Smith; Seniors, Dobson Bros cup, Janine Maru. Groom and turn out award; Junior, McWilliams trophy, Briar McGregor; Intermediate, C&B Fredricksen cup, Nicola Smith and Marni McGregor; Senior, KuiGriffin cup, Rachel James. Most improved rider during the season; Juniors, McGregor cup, Michelle Fredricksen

Raetihi; Intermediate, McGill cup, Paula Hyland Kakatahi, Seniors, Bowater cup, Janine Maru Raetihi. The Waipuna Ridge Trophy for the most conscientious rider went to Sally Williams. The Sir William Special Award, which the pony club awards to an adult who has contributed the most to pony club this , year Was awarded to Glenis Langdon. The special Tiny Tots award went to Kirk Lilburn and Mary Seifert. The Raetihi pony club has had a very good year with a roll of 31 financial members. Cindy Langdon competed at the New Zealand Pony Club Championship for the

King Country Association and was placed seventh in the A! dressage and Katrina Wilson competed at Timberlands also doing well. Examination passes; The examiners were from Ohakune, Evelyn Cooper D certificate; two from Taumarunui C certificate; two from Feilding G plus certificate.The following children gained passes. D certificate; Paula Hyland, Cameron Morris, Cushla Edgarton, Amanda Garland and Nicola Smith. C Certificate; Sally Williams, Kirsty Mcllroy and Janine Maru. C plus certificate; Cindy Langdon and Katrina Wilson.
