Never too old to flip?

• It was great to notice in your last week's paper (back page) that the "youth 'serum" that I have been taking has finally come to the media's attention. You noted that I managed to win the Wanganui Gym Competition and win the gold medal- and this was while I was appearing in the 12 and under age grade!!!! It was good to know that I fooled the judges as well as my own team mates. While I was engaged

in this competition my son, Andrew (who by the way also looks like a 12 year old) was away in Hastings driving a rally car for his Uncle Graham. He has a problem as the rally organisers and the M.O.T. obviously thought he was 40 something. Once again thank you for enabling me to win my first gold medal. Alan Murdie.

Editor's Note: Working on a newspaper is one job where your mistakes are there for all to see, but now and again we at least manage one such as this that brings a smile or two - your gratitude is most welcome! If laughter is the best medicine, or youth serum, readers might like to imagine our New World proprietor performing sommersaults over the tills or cartwheels down the aisles!
