Bridge

Twenty people turned up for bridge on Wednesday 12 June, in spite of State-of-Origin Rugby League, and played 20 boards. Unlike State-of-Origin league however the scores for bridge were more spread out. There was five points difference between first and second North- South and an overall spreald of nineteen points. In the East-West direction the overall spread was twenty-six points with sixteen points between first and second places. The results for the evening were as follows. North-South, lst Ron Frew and Tani Blackburn 56.25% 2nd Bettty Hammond and Rita Kaiwhare 53. 13%, 3rd Ron Martin and Heather Cranston, Lauretta Eades and Pauline Le Noel 48.13%. East and West, lst Colin Cox and Bev Cox 60%, 2nd Les Burns and Gordon Mottram 50%, 3rd Bill Te Karu and Jenny Mottram 47.50%
