Bill will affect annual plan
Reform of local government is not yet finished, with new legislation due to take effect by 1 July 1991 which will affect Ruapehu before it adopts its 1991/92 Annual Plan. Part of the bill gives the council the option of whether to review the basis of election of Council in respect to the 1992 elections, but a review of the basis of election of community boards is still required. Annual plans of the council will be required to include information as to the level of rates to be struck both in respect to rates levied on valuation and by uniform annual charge.
