Winter Games design
Ohakune graphic designer Dennis Beytagh (left) presents New Zealand Winter Games director Andreas Hefti with a sign for the NZWG head office in. Ohakune. The logo depicts Mt Ruapehu with its two main skifields, Turoa and Whakapapa, as a
central feature. Above and around this feature are three concentric circles. The outer one represents both the link between the two skifields and the surrounding Ruapehu region which is to host the Winter Games, the circle in the centre represents the sun over the moun-
tain but also, when seen together with the inner circle, can be interpreted as the upper half of a dancing figure to convey the festive spirit of the Winter Games which are to be held in conjunction with the Mt Ruapehu Winter Festival from 15 September to 5 October.
